Today I will start my journey through one of the richest wine regions in the Balkans with one of the largest wine cellar - Tikveš Winery.

Wine is one of the symbols of  Macedonia. The secret of the taste of  Macedonian wines lies in the sun, which in Central Macedonia, miraculously contributes to the taste of each and every grape seed.

The wine making tradition in Macedonia and the Tikveš region is centuries long Since the times of the Roman Empire it has been written that Macedonia produces amazingly powerful wines carrying the scent of the vibrant south, the taste of traditional songs and laughter of the people living in this region.

The supreme wines which are the result of a perfect synergy of our vineyards, the sky, the sun and the best grape varieties from the Tikveš region, alongside with state-of-the-art technology and knowledge of wine-masters, are proudly created by Tikveš Winery

Macedonia - a famous wine region

Why is Macedonia a famous wine region?

According to some archeological researches, we have findings that the production of the commercial production of wine dates back to 13th century B.C. Macedonia is also known as the land of the sun – it has 270 sunny days in a year, hence the cultivation of the wine grapes has a high quality.
The continental climate caressed by the Mediterranean winds additionally contribute for the rich aromas of Macedonian wines.
